With a background in freestyle skateboarding the Guanabara Boards style was based on performing freestyle footwork on a longboard, which was later known as Longboard Dancing.

Longboard dancing is a fairly recent trend in longboarding which stems from the history of freestyle flat-land skateboarding in the 70’s-80’s and the footwork that longboard surfers sometimes use.

The Guanabara Boards team were a pioneers in the global development of this style of longboarding with our viral video ‘Saco Cheio’, featuring Ana Maria Suzano.

our teaching method

Our method creates a foundation with the intention to develop your skills as a longboarder so that after completing the beginner and intermediate level classes, you will be ready to safely learn the first steps of longboard dancing.
